BREWER COTE©
3405 JOINT AND CRACK SEALANT
Brewer Cote© 3405 is a premium quality, single component, hot applied joint and crack sealing compound. It is formulated with selected asphalt, rubber extender oils, reinforcing fillers, and polymers. It is furnished as a solid and is self leveling at application temperatures. This product, recommended for sealing of joints and cracks in portland cement, asphaltic concrete pavements and parking lots, will seal joints and cracks against infiltration of moisture throughout repeated cycles of thermal expansion and contraction and will not flow from cracks or joints at ambient temperatures. Brewer Cote© 3405 is not intended for use in areas subjected to jet fuel and oil spillage.
JOINT OR CRACK PREPARATION:
New Construction: Prior to application of product, joints must be clean and dry. Contaminant on joint surfaces should be removed by sandblasting. Dust, dirt, and other foreign matter should be blown out of the joint with oil-free compressed air of at least 90 PSI immediately preceding the application of sealant.

MELTING EQUIPMENT:
Melting equipment shall be conventional double boiler, oil-jacketed, mechanical agitator, with separate thermometers for both oil bath and sealant material and using high flash oil, 6000F minimum, as a heat transfer medium.

Upon start-up of melter, add small quantities of sealant with plastic bag to melter while the agitator is off. Load slowly to avoid splash back.

Control temperatures of crack sealant at safe heating temperature of 3900F. Recommended pouring temperature is 3700F.

SEALANT INSTALLATION:
The sealant must be agitated continuously during the melting and pouring process. Application may be achieved with pour pot or through commercially available hot crack sealing application systems with pump, hose, and wand. Squeegeeing may be desirable.
At the end of each day's sealing operation, all material remaining in the lines should be drawn off.

COVERAGE:
The amount of sealant required to fill 100 lineal feet of joint or crack measuring 1/2" x 1/2" is 12.5 lbs.

PACKED:
Brewer Cote" 3405 is packed in 50 lb. boxes which contain 2 - 25 lb. bags of sealant.
